What people on the ground reported
- Norman, Nov 2, 1:30 PM: “mPING report. Radar-adjusted time.”
- Norman, Nov 2, 1:32 PM: “mPING report.”
Each row is one report: a trained spotter, a member of the public or a weather app user giving a stone size at a point. Reports are where someone was standing, so the hail swath between and around them is wider than the list.
What 1-inch hail does to a roof
One inch, quarter size, is where the National Weather Service starts calling hail severe, and it is about where roof damage begins. On asphalt shingles it shows as bruises and lost granules that are hard to see from the street; concrete and clay tile can crack, and metal roofs and gutters dent. Stones of 2 inches and more, like the largest ones in this storm, can break shingles and tiles outright.
Damage that cannot be seen from the ground is why homeowners in a hail path often do not know they have a claim. Insurance policies set their own deadline for reporting storm damage, so an inspection soon after the storm is worth more than one next season.

Every report on this page is from the NOAA Storm Prediction Center, local storm reports, read on November 3, 2026. They are preliminary: the National Weather Service can correct a report or add a late one, and this page is redrawn when it does. A report that corrects an earlier one replaces it here, so a stone is counted once. Only reports of 1 inch and larger in Oklahoma, Cleveland and Canadian Counties are included.
